Summary: With the team at Think Joule, we created an extensive library of 50+ illustrations drawn from iconic buildings, animals, and scenes found throughout The Ground’s various experiences. Everything was illustrated, from the smallest acorn to the full ecofriendly hotel. These illustrations are to be scaleable and utilized across a variety of mediums; they may live as an icon on a brochure map or be printed onto apparel for retail. The illustration library shows off the beautifully vast ecosystem that is The Ground.

Results: The Ground is constantly evolving as it takes on new projects and experiences. The Ground’s hotel, aptly named "Inn the Ground”, has gained international attention for its unique model paired with its serene branding. Oregon Winecountry, home of The Ground ecosystem, has blown onto the world stage. The illustration library interacts with this region’s many visitors and residents at numerous touchpoints and provides a strong sense of pride for this beautiful place.

The initial few illustrations quickly grew in popularity, gaining more requests from the client, and expanding into a vast library. The requests ranged from beautiful building sketches to cute moments of nature, all as a love letter to the earth. Some live on tote bags, while some live on their website as happy cows chewing on grass. The displayed brochure is given to all visitors to show the vastness of the property and accompanying businesses under The Ground umbrella.

 
 
 
 
 

All of the illustrations were created to unify the various brands living across the area, keeping them grounded and personal. Some even made their way onto custom trail signage as it guided visitors through The Ground’s extensive and lush landscape. Others became the pattern on the company's brand new food truck, rolling from event space to farmers market.
